Janaseva Foundation has adopted 3 rural villages to be developed as Adarsh Gram. In these villages population consists of mostly elderly as young generations has shifted to the cities. Under this programme toilets are being built, proper roads, water and sanitation are being improved and water filters are provided to each senior citizen. Schools are provided eLearning kits. Foundation distributed saplings of fruit trees with help from Rotary Club of Pimpri. Elderly are imparted information on how to open bank accounts, agriculture and associated occupations.
Like many villages in India villages from various blocks of District Pune, India, do not have toilets. Senior citizens, disabled and women face severe problems due to this. Foundation has built toilets with sponsorship from Mr. Anil Deshpande, USA, Share and Care, USA, Maharashtra Foundation, USA. During 2016-17 we received Rs. 52 lakhs from Malhotra family, out of which Rs. 50 lakhs are from Rotary Club of Pune Central Charitable Trust for the Project of Construction of toilets in rural areas and Vocational training.
Foundation has built a kitchen garden around the Oldage Homes. Here Senior Citizens spend their time in doing various works as per their capacity which keeps them engaged and physically active. Now with the help of Sakal Social Foundation and Rajmata Jijau Health & Nutrition Mission of Maharashtra State planned for Parasbag (kitchen garden) in 5 villages e.g. Ambi, Pabe, Kuran, Kadve & Varasgaon.
The foundation had taken up Green Valley Project in cooperation with Sufalam Nursery (Shri Raman Khinvansara) and Lions International. Under the project, nearly 5000 trees including medicinal plants have been planted on 2.5 acres of land at Ambi and Katraj. Every year employees and volunteers from various IT companies e.g Accenture, Sinsan Pharma etc. participate in tree plantation drives in various villages.
Taking into account the need of milk for the elderly and the patients, foundation’s well wisher Rotarian Ishwar Uttamchandani and Mrs. Minoo Uttamchandani, Rotary Club Pune Riverside, gave donations for dairy project and every year they are giving some maintenance. This project will be renovated. Gobar gas plant and kitchen garden are run on this project.
Helping victims of natural disasters is an important part of the Foundation’s activities. For instance, the Foundation raised Rs. 13 lac on its own for the flood victims in the Mahad area during 2005 and added another Rs. 2 lac donated by philanthropic organizations like Maharashtra Foundation and Share and Care. The trustees of the Janaseva Foundation made it a point to visit the affected areas and conveyed them help in the form of foodgrains, clothes, medicines and money. Recently foundation collected Rs. 10 lakhs and handed over the cheque to Hon’ble Devendra Phadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra towards Chief Ministers Draught Relief Fund.
Since govt. has enacted CSR activity law many corporations are looking for NGOs with whom they can do projects to serve the society. Janaseva Foundation has approached many corporations and vice versa and has made presentations and submitted projects. It’s Board members, Chairman and Mr. Surender Kumar, Coordinator, CSR, had meetings with CSR committees of these organization and the details of the Projects is as follows:

Janaseva Foundation’s prolonged humanitarian services have been honoured by. Indian Postal Department which had come out with Special Postal Cover on 13/01/2014 at the auspicious hands of Col. K.C. Mishra, VSM, then Chief Post Master General for Maharashtra and Goa Circle. Col. K.C. Mishra said that this honour to Janaseva Foundation is in fact an honour to India.
